My New Website - May 6th 2011

Today I am opening my new website, on which you can find extracts from my writings, my dreams, my poems, my favourite quotations, my photographs - in short I hope you will find something of me here. I am in the process of uploading documents and photographs, so please be patient - I`ll get there eventually.
Perhaps most important of all is my Blog, which I shall keep as a sort of diary, but will also publish thoughts that are passing through my head and that I would like to discuss with anyone interested. Please feel free to send me your comments and ideas - the blog is in English, but if you write to me in Serbian, I shall reply in Serbian.
I am just off to England, to attend the wedding of my eldest son, Justin, the father of my grandchild Kalina. I respect him for doing things in an unconventional order! As someone who has married three times, I am beginning to wonder about the whole question of marriage as an institution. Is man naturally monogamous? There`s a topic for discussion! What do you think!

Is man naturally monogamous? Of course not. The insitution of marriage does not make sense any more. It is ridiculously obsolete. However, what does matter is who is parent to whom. In other words, who is who`s child. We do not need marriage to pretend to know it any more. We have the option of knowing it exactly. Simply and reliably, by the means of DNA analysis. It removes any doubt, as contrasted to the institution of marriage. The legislation should follow this development and make the institution of marriage juridically void.

As far as monogamy is concerned, i believe this is up to each one of us.... i know couples in long and devoted marriages, high school or university sweethearts who stayed together their whole life, through thick ant thin. On the other hand I`ve met a lot of people (guys and girls) "away" in their years, never setting`s down. I think its the way the society forms us.... women used to endure a lot of hardships and still stay in the marriage, devoted to their husband. Not today! On the other hand, men used to be more devoted to the women, tendering her and assuming the position of the head of the family. Not today. This was more than a marriage, it was a family. But, marriage as an institution is a different topic, in my point of view. People can love each other and be together, create a family with ought the "governmental paperwork" involved. Church is nice, wedding,cake, friends and family, the works..... tradition vise at least. But what means being married to someone today, whats the difference if u r recognized by the state or not.... Doesn`t guarantee a happy life together, or even being faithful.... when things go wrong, it means absolutely nothing! Now this is from a guy who has not been married, but i believe i am a product of my environment, as much as i try to fight against it. I believe in people, not institutions, of any kind!
